Looking to transition from oil and gas to a career in clean energy?
Tap into financial support available through the Oil and Gas Transition Training Fund.
The fund is designed to help current and former oil and gas workers upskill for roles in the clean and sustainable energy sector.
Administered by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), this fund is a joint initiative from the Scottish and UK Governments.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for funding to support your training and career transition if:
- you currently work, or have worked, in the oil and gas industry within the last 24 months, and
- you are resident in Scotland and have the right to work in the UK.
How to apply
Applications are made via the Oil and Gas Transition Training Fund website.
To get started, you’ll need to register on their website.
Once you’ve created your account, you can build your package of training and submit an application for funding.
SDS advisers will support you throughout the process, and are available on 0808 100 1855.
What training can be funded?
This funding can be used for training that is industry recognised and required by employers to access roles in all aspects of the identified sectors, which include:
- Offshore and Onshore Wind
- Hydrogen
- CCUS
- Solar
- EV Charging
- Heat Pumps
- Electricity Networks
- Biomethane
- High Value Manufacturing
- Greenhouse Gas Removals
- Life Sciences
- Defence.
Not just for technical roles
Funding is not necessarily restricted to training for technical roles but could also include training for support function roles.
